“Bible Vista” inauguration held with the Initial Session

The inauguration of the much awaited Bible study programme “Bible Vista”, an overview of the Bible was held on Monday, 20th June,2022.  A copy of the Holy Bible was carried in procession by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, accompanied by lighted candles and flowers. The procession included Rev.Dr. Vincent Sequeira, the Resource Person; Rev.Fr. Gerald Pinto; Mrs Sheela D’Souza,Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Parishad ;Mr Edward Coelho, Co-ordinator of the 21 Commissions; Mr Gaulbert Pais, PPP Secretary and Convenor of the Bible and Catechetical Commission of the parish, together with its members.

The Holy Bible was placed on a stand on the table.This was followed by singing the opening Hymn and prayer.  The Parish Priest then formally welcomed and introduced Rev.Dr. Vincent Sequeira who by now has become quite a familiar face for Konkani speaking Catholic community because of his daily video clips “shubhvortoman”.

Fr.Vincent Sequeira then commenced his presentation by briefly explaining the importance of the Holy Scripture in our lives and how we have to approach it with prayer and humility.  He also advised that this programme is meant to be a bird’s eye-view so we can delve deeper with similar study programmes in days to come. About 120 parishioners, including youth had attended this first session. The study will be spread over 4 days until Thursday 23rd June from 6 pm to 7.30 P.M. daily. 

Outside the meeting hall, an exhibition cum sale counter of different versions of Bible translations and other scripture related books was also organised by the parish Bible and Catechetical Commission.
