Message

My Dear Derebail Parishioners, Greetings and prayers to you all. May the Holy Redeemer bless you abundantly.

The month of May was a special time to receive the blessings of our Heavenly Mother, Mary. She is our beloved Mother who never abandons her children. Through the prayer of the Rosary, she pours down showers of heavenly blessings upon us. May she continue to intercede for us always. Let us keep up the beautiful tradition of praying the Rosary in our families. This prayer has worked wonders in the past and will continue to do so.

Habemus Papam: We rejoice with the entire Church as we welcome our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. It is truly the work of the Holy Spirit that he has been chosen to lead the Church. His saintly life and dedicated leadership will surely guide the Church forward in proclaiming the Good News with renewed vigor. Let us keep our Holy Father in our prayers.

Thank You, Fr Kevin: It is with sadness that we bid farewell to Fr Kevin, who will now take up an important responsibility as the Rector of the Minor Seminary in Bajpe. Fr Kevin has served our parish faithfully for two years, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts. His inspiring homilies, prayer services, and warm interactions with children, youth, the elderly, and all parishioners were truly remarkable. He was deeply loved by all, and his presence brought joy and comfort, especially during times of need and crisis. May the Lord continue to bless him and make his ministry among the young seminarians fruitful. Let us pray regularly for his intentions.

Welcome, Fr Nelson Peris: We are happy to welcome Fr Nelson Peris as our new Assistant Parish Priest. He brings with him a wealth of pastoral experience. I am confident that his ministry in our parish will be vibrant and grace-filled. Let us support and collaborate with him wholeheartedly in all his efforts to serve our community.

Congratulations to Our Children: Our children have performed exceptionally well in their annual examinations. Some have brought great laurels to their families and parish. May God bless all our children with a bright, successful, and joy-filled future.

Catechism and YCS Programs Begin: Let us refocus our attention on Sunday Catechism and YCS (Young Catholic Students) programs. Sunday Catechism classes will resume shortly, and I earnestly request all parents to motivate and ensure that their children attend these classes regularly and without fail. Similarly, YCS activities for I and II PUC students will begin soon. Participation in these programs is of paramount importance for their faith formation.

Bible Classes: Bible classes will begin from the second week of June. They will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Our resource person will be Fr Antony Pinto, Professor of Scripture at the Seminary. All are encouraged to attend and deepen their knowledge of the Word of God.

Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus: June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let us consecrate our families to His Most Sacred Heart and draw spiritual strength and renewal from His divine love.

Papal Intention for the Month of June: That the world might grow in compassion. Let us pray that each one of us may find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus, and from His Heart, learn to show compassion to the world.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: O Most Holy Heart of Jesus,
Fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You, and with heartfelt sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to Your will. Grant, O Good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You. Protect me in the midst of danger, comfort me in my afflictions, grant me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing upon all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.
