Vianney Day: Special prayers for priestly and religious Vocations

Special prayers for priests and religious was organized on the occasion of the feast of St John Mary Vianney the Patron of all the priests under the leadership of Commission for Vocations at Derebail Church. The celebration commenced with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest. During the Mass, the liturgy was well prepared by the Commission members. After the Mass Holy Hour was conducted in which prayers were offered for priestly and religious vocations. After the final blessing, as a mark of appreciation and gratitude, candles were given to the families of the priests and nuns. More than 250 people participated in the event.
Quote from St John Mary Vianney: “My little children, your hearts, are small, but prayer stretches them and makes them capable of loving God. Through prayer we receive a foretaste of heaven and something of paradise comes down upon us. Prayer never leaves us without sweetness. It is honey that flows into the souls and makes all things sweet. When we pray properly, sorrows disappear like snow before the sun.”
