Journey to the Cross: Kottara Ward Upholds this Tradition of Faith for the Third Year

Among the several events organised in the ward to strengthen unity and grow spiritually, the Way of the cross in the Lenten season is a significant one. Starting on the first day after Ash Wednesday, the Cross was taken to each house and completed its journey just before Maundy Thursday.

The members of Kottara ward gathered at every house at 7 pm to recite the Angelus, Rosary followed by the Way of the Cross. All the ward members met in the house where the Cross rested on the previous day. The head of the family led the Jubilee prayer and the Cross was taken in a procession to the next house and handed over to the head of that family where it was kept in a place of reverence.

An average of 25 to 30 members attended the Journey of the cross everyday, making this experience fruitful and a Blessed one filled with abundant blessings and healings. .

The final day of the Journey of the Cross, post prayers ended with a fellowship dinner prepared by the Ward members.
