Mission Sunday 2018 at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail

World Mission Sunday is the one Sunday in the year when the entire global Church comes together in support of mission. And all the donations from these worldwide Masses go entirely to support churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor.

Mission Sunday is usually celebrated in the month of October every year in view of showing love and solidarity to our family in faith overseas. Through our prayers, we support missionaries everywhere in spreading the Good News. And by donating we respond to Christ’s call to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.

The parishioners of Most Holy Redeemers Church, Derebail celebrated mission Sunday on 24th and 25th of November, 2018. All the associations and parish council members along with the Parish priest and Residential priests worked hand in hand in putting up variety of items.

Major attractions were chicken kebab, biryani, cupcakes, sugarcane juice etc.

During the Sunday mass children offered their secret collections. Auction was conducted on both the days. The members of Legion of mary had put up game stalls. All the parishioners gave their whole hearted support and cooperation.

Mission Sunday 2018 came to an end after the smooth running. Lot of appreciation was obtained for the wonderful team work throught these two days. Hope that our hardwork and integral spirit will reach out to the deserving.
