Children Lead the Ward Meeting at Church Ward

The ward meeting of Church Ward was beautifully led by the children of the ward on 24th May, 2026 at 4.30 pm at the residence of Mr. Vincent and Mrs. Shwetha Fernandes. The meeting commenced with warm words of welcome by Master Ethan Fernandes and a hymn was sung by all ward members. 

The meeting was led by Miss Ethel D’Souza.The word of God was taken from the Gospel of John, Chapter 14 verses 15-21 and was read by Miss AricaFernandes and Master Kian Periera. The word “LOVE” was chosen by the children as their guiding word for the month. All children and youths then recited personal prayers. 

The first part of the meeting concluded with the recitation of “Our Father”.The second part of the meeting was led by Miss. Dashel Concessao. 

The ward Gurkar Mrs. Clara Miranda extended a warm welcome to the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis.The previous month’s Ward Meeting Report was read by the Secretary Mrs. Florine Figreda and was approved by all.A few entertaining games were conducted by Mrs. Sheela Castelino for the children and youth, and prizes were distributed to the winners by Fr. Martis. Chocolates were distributed to all the children.Master Jason Viegas was felicitated with a rose by Fr. Martis for his achievements in extracurricular activities in State Level. 

Fr. Martis in his message, suggested that children should come forward and conduct the ward meetings twice a year. He was happy that all the children were able to read Konkani clearly. He also suggested that children should learn local languages and many other languages which will help them in their future. He also informed about minor changes in the daily mass prayers which will be implemented by the church soon. He appreciated the children for their enthusiasm in conducting the meeting.

The ward Gurkar Mrs. Clara Miranda in her vote of thanks, expressed her gratitude to Fr. Martis, all the children and their parents, youths and all ward members for their active participation. A total of 14 Children and Youth, and 23 adults were present for the meeting.

 Snacks and cold drinks were distributed to all the members by the host family.
